Message from the HOD

Dr. L. Jones Tarcius Doss

PROFESSOR

Mathematics is a universal language for communicating thoughts and ideas related to Science, Engineering, and Technology. The more one understands the language framework of Mathematics, the more he/she interacts with Science, Engineering, Technology, and even the Cosmos. The ultimate aim of our Department of Mathematics is to motivate the students to understand the grammar of the Mathematics language completely rather than memorizing the formulae of Mathematics. The department has a distinct position amidst the student community for the ingenuity to promote the students Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, and personality development through finely designed curriculum and syllabi. The department maintains a good reputation for research, teaching, and individual growth and heartens the pursuit of academic excellence through the transmission, transaction, and transformation of knowledge through the consistent performance of disciplined and dedicated staff members. Our faculty members have published research articles in leading high-quality journals with good h-index. The Department of Mathematics is one of the largest units of Anna University with a strength of 36 faculty members to cater to the needs of the Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate programmes in Science, Engineering, and Technology. Almost all the faculty members are Ph.D. degree holders having received their doctoral degrees from leading institutes/universities.
