PROFESSOR

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, a University Department in the College of Engineering Guindy Campus, Anna University, Chennai, though one of the oldest in the country, is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories for carrying out advanced electronic hardware design and fabrication as well as software development. The Department has the distinction of being the first in India to start the PG programme in Telecommunication System Engineering in the year 1945 and the first PG programme in Communication Systems in 1963. Subsequently, in line with the technical advancements, the PG programmes in Applied Electronics, Bio-Medical Engineering, Optical Communication, Medical Electronics and VLSI Design were introduced. The Department of ECE at CEG, has been a benchmark for other Institutions as well as Universities, in and around the state and is most sought after by high-ranking students. The training imparted to the students, the opportunities and freedom provided to them for a holistic development, as well as the excellent performance of the students has enabled the department to maintain its strength and brand image and retain a respectable status among the major recruiters. The students and faculty of this Department have excelled in the past and with the presently equipped infrastructure facility and established processes, I wish and am confident that this department will continue to excel moving towards our vision.
