Unmanned Autonomous Systems

Within the Department of Information Science and Technology, a key focus area lies in the development of an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). This system is engineered to elevate the driving experience by prioritizing safety, comfort, and ease of operation. The thrust encompasses devising innovative methods and algorithms for obstacle avoidance and route optimization, aiming to achieve a high level of automation, specifically Level 4, within the ADAS framework. Additionally, there is a focus on evaluating the efficacy of this framework in guiding Unmanned Autonomous Ground Vehicles (UAGVs). The department's laboratory serves as a hub for practical learning, providing students with hands-on exposure to both hardware and software components. Here, a prototype vehicle is meticulously assembled, integrating embedded processors, motors, cameras, and an array of sensing devices to foster the development of unmanned vehicle technologies.

Dr. S. Swamynathan

PROFESSOR

Welcome to the Department of Information Science and Technology. It is a relatively younger department started in 2010 and was bifurcated from our parent department of Computer Science and Engineering. The department is offering the following courses. B.Tech (Information Technology) M.Tech (Information Technology) M.Tech (Information Technology with specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science) M.C.A (Master of Computer Applications) The department offers an updated syllabus according to cutting-edge technology and is continuously updated with the help of industry professionals, Alumni, and Subject Experts. The students do internships and undergo student exchange programmes with foreign university. It also encourages students to do research and socially relevant projects. The faculty and research scholars do research in IoT, BlockChain Technologies, Image Processing, Natural Language Processing, Big Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Databases, Security, Virtual Reality and Multimedia.
