A comprehensive introduction to the art and craft of filmmaking. Through a combination of theoretical study and practical exercises, students will gain a fundamental understanding of the various elements involved in creating a film, including storytelling, cinematography, directing, editing, and sound design. Abdul Kalam To harness the power of creativity in students through structured learning is what the Department of Media Sciences, Anna University has been doing since its inception in 2002. The Department of Media Sciences, Anna University, is a premier centre of media education and research in India. The media landscape is rapidly evolving. Understanding this dynamic, the department has set up learning activities that allow students to discover differences between the past and present and explore how the digital age has now changed the way media function. The Department is contemporary, internationally relevant and it meets the latest industry standards. The students are allowed to explore their creativity in relevant, interesting, and worthwhile ways. Regular workshops, lectures and interactions with experts and the industry have helped our students keep pace with changing technologies. The well qualified and experienced Department faculty work with excellent team spirit in a different technical team which leads to key research publications in multiple media related areas. Our efforts are also enhanced by the vital involvement of inspirational alumni, who are doing innovative and transformative things in their personal and professional lives to make the Department grow from strength to strength.
